Marking techniques in mixed oak forests: individual tree forestry

Within the framework of the LIFE MixForChange project, 2018 demonstration activities are being carried out where innovative forest management models are applied. These models seek to promote more resilient mixed masses to climate change by improving their ecological, economic and social functions.

These models incorporate criteria such as that of individual tree forestry, which focuses on the realization of selective thinnings around trees defined as target trees. In order to apply this forestry, new techniques of marking and training of workers must be internalized.

Therefore, the technical workshop that will be held next June 15 in Sant Celoni is intended to be a practical session of marking in which will show the criteria necessary for the execution of these models of management.
