This protocol aims at facilitating the assessment of standing timber quality, as well as the possible industrial destinations, of the main valuable broadleaved species, especially oak, ash, maple, cherry and chestnut, but also walnut, service tree and pear tree. We aim at creating a tool to help forest owners and practitioners responsible of forest management doing a fast assessment of the potential for valuable timber generation of trees of these species at various stages. This should ultimately help designing silvicultural interventions and integrating single-tree silviculture criteria to generate added value timber products.
