On 1 December 2017, the first meeting of the Advisory Committee of the MixForChange project is held at Montnegre-Corredor with the participating partners. This Committee is made up of managers and specialists in management of mixed forests, both in public and private sectors, as well as for researchers in forest management to adapt to climate change.
In this first meeting the team visits several project stands and discusses management options to promote their adaptation to climate change and their multifunctionality. In addition, results of the initial diagnosis of holm oak and chestnut stands of the project are presented and general principles to design forest interventions are agreed. These silvicultural interventions are applied during the first semester of 2018.
