In the project we have installed 71 permanent monitoring plots of monitoring with a wide range of dasometric variables, in order to assess the effects of MixForChange silviculture. These plots have been monitored before and right after the application of the silvicultural treatments (2017-18) and in autumn 2020. The measured variables are described in the D3 monitoring protocol, and include the main stand variables (density, species composition, basal area…), the individual characterization of all the trees within the plot (diameter, height, sociological stratum…) and the detailed characterization of the trees of greatest interest from the economic and environmental points of view (future crop trees) and their competitors.
