This guide, prepared by authors from CTFC, APMC, CPF and Barcelona Province Council, seeks to build bridges between three essential aspects for our society: local policies, the management and conservation of forest services and values, and in particular peri-urban areas, and the challenge of adapting to and mitigating the impacts of climate change. These three aspects are strongly interrelated, and therefore it is essential to explore how to progress towards integrating them. Here we provide examples and specific proposals on how the local administration can promote the adaptation and conservation of peri-urban forests in the context of climate change.
Moreover, we have prepared four summaries of the guide, addressed to specific audiences: high school students, municipal environmental technicians, policy makers and media.
The guide is available at the publications section.
